Born and raised on Long Island, New York, Mark began piano lessons at an early age, but didn’t get serious with his playing until just a few years ago. “I was fortunate to have a piano in the house growing up,” says Mark, “and parents that let me practice on it late into the night even though they wanted to sleep!” Believe it or not, this is Mark’s first real band since high school jazz band! Prior to SuperGenius, he struggled to make it with two bands that never made it out of the rehearsal phase. Frustrated, Mark decided to call the shots and form his own band he called New Sensation, another 80s rock/dance band. “What a great band!” says Mark, “Within weeks, we were playing everywhere! It was great to finally make it! Things only got better from here on out.” Over time, New Sensation had some line up changes and eventually became known as SuperGenius. Mark even learned how to play the bass guitar and now plays bass regularly. “My first love will always be the piano but playing the bass is really cool too!”

      When Mark isn’t being a rock star, he manages a GNC franchise he opened almost 10 years ago located at the Southgate Mall. He remodeled it two years ago to now include a full-service smoothie bar. “I’m like a doctor,” explains Mark “you tell me your problems, goals and concerns and I’ll tell you what vitamins and powders to take that really work!” He’s also an AFAA certified personal trainer. Mark loves to talk fitness and nutrition as much as music. So if you’re walking around the mall, stop by and say “hello” …maybe he’ll even hook you up with a free smoothie!
